Installing Windows 11 on Hyper-V
A video tutorial on how to install Windows 11 on a Hyper-V virtual machine from an ISO file.
Open Hyper-V Manager (Win + S → type "Hyper-V Manager").
In the left panel, select your computer, then click New → Virtual Machine.
In the setup wizard, follow these steps:
- Name: Enter a name for your VM, e.g., Windows11VM.
- Location: Choose a custom folder if needed.
- Generation: Select Generation 2 (Windows 11 requires UEFI).
- Memory: Assign at least 4 GB RAM (8 GB+ recommended).
- Network Adapter: Choose a Virtual Switch (e.g., "Default Switch").
- Virtual Hard Disk: Create a new VHDX disk (at least 64 GB).
- Boot Options: Under Installation Options, select ISO image file and choose the downloaded Windows 11 ISO.
- Click Finish to complete the setup.
- After that, open your VM's settings and choose "Security", and select "Enable Trusted Platform Module".
- In Hyper-V Manager, select your VM and click Start.
- Click Connect to open the VM window and proceed with the Windows installer.
- Once the installation is complete, Windows 11 will automatically reboot and start setup.
