Installing DSCM on Windows Server


Preparing Windows Server to share the DSCM files with all the directory structure needed to unattended deploy apps and handle it with GPO policy to the workstations in specified OU.

First, download the DSCM from https://ithero.ovh/dscm.

Extract the archive file.

Copy extracted dscm directory to your server's disk.

Create a network share of this directory.

Leave share read permission for all.

In Security tab, make sure your computers group has permission to read that directory.

Set the path of your share to the dscm_config_dir variable in the location.ini file.

In dscm.cmd file fill the path to the share before "\dscm.exe" phrase.
If the share is in the same AD domain, you don't have to enter credential to the share.

In Group Policy Management tool and locate your workstations OU and edit your GPO policy and go to:
Computer Configuration, Policies, Windows Settings, Scripts, Startup.
Next, add a script and enter the path to the shared dscm.cmd file in the Script Name field.

You have installed DSCM on your Windows Server.
